Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site operator.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies LodgeLink uses and why.
LodgeLink is an independent platform and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the United Grand Lodge of England.
2. Our Approach to Cookies
LodgeLink uses essential cookies only. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. Without them, you would not be able to log in, navigate between pages, or use core features of LodgeLink.
Because we use only essential cookies, we are not required to obtain your consent before setting them. However, we want to be transparent about exactly what is set and why.
3. Essential Cookies We Use
The following cookies are set by LodgeLink to enable core platform functionality:
- Authentication cookie — set when you sign in to LodgeLink. Keeps you logged in as you navigate between pages. Expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
- Session cookie — a temporary cookie that maintains your session state during a single visit. Deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Security cookie — used to help protect your account against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. Contains no personal information.
- Lodge preference cookie — remembers which lodge you are associated with so that the correct lodge context is shown when you return to the platform.
4. Stripe Payment Cookies
When you make a payment through LodgeLink, you are interacting with Stripe's payment infrastructure. Stripe may set cookies on your device as part of their fraud prevention, payment processing and security systems.
These cookies are set by Stripe, not by LodgeLink, and are subject to Stripe's own Privacy Policy. They are used solely to secure and process your payment and are not used for advertising or tracking purposes.
Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. LodgeLink never stores card numbers or payment credentials.
5. Cookies We Do Not Use
LodgeLink does not use any of the following:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies (e.g. Google Ads, Facebook Pixel)
- Behavioural tracking or profiling cookies
- Third-party analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics)
- Social media tracking pixels
We have no interest in tracking your behaviour across the web and will never introduce such cookies without updating this policy and, where required, seeking your consent.
6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
Because LodgeLink uses only essential cookies, there is no option to opt out of cookies while continuing to use the platform — they are required for it to work.
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that if you block or delete essential cookies, you will not be able to log in to LodgeLink or use its features.
For guidance on managing cookies in your browser, visit aboutcookies.org.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we introduce new features that require additional cookies. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email.
The date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last updated.
